Specialised equipment and supports are standard room features. They include but are not limited to:
Rent will be set at 25% of the basic disability support pension plus 100% of commonwealth rent assistance. Tenants will also be required to pay for all utilities and food.
Medium Term Accommodation can support you if you need somewhere to live while waiting for your confirmed long term housing solution. This means you need evidence that you have somewhere to live when your Medium Term Accommodation funding ends.
We only fund Medium Term Accommodation if:
you have a confirmed long term housing solution, and
you’re waiting for your disability related supports so you can move in to your long term housing solution.
For example, you might be waiting for:
home modifications to be ready
assistive technology to arrive
your confirmed Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) to be available.
We usually fund Medium Term Accommodation as a one-off support. This is because you won’t need Medium Term Accommodation once you move to your long term housing.
Medium Term Accommodation is usually for up to three months (90 days).
Medium Term Accommodation only covers the accommodation cost of where you stay. It doesn’t include day-to-day living costs like food, internet or electricity. Medium Term
Accommodation also doesn’t include any personal care supports.

NDIS funding provides support for necessary services to improve your everyday life. The funding amount is based on your individual plan and usually lasts for the entire duration of your plan i.e. 12 months after your plan starts.
NDIS funding amounts do not roll over to your next plan so any unused funding will be lost. This may result in a restructure of your NDIS funding depending on the change in your support requirements.
One of the supports that may be funded for some participants who have an extreme functional impairment or very high support needs is Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). SDA refers to accommodation for people who require specialist housing solutions, including assisting with the delivery of supports that cater for their extreme functional impairment or very high support needs.
From 1 July 2016, eligible participants will have SDA funding included in their plan enabling them to source the SDA they require and choose from the market.
SDA funding is for the dwelling itself, and is not intended to cover support costs (such as Supported Independent Living), which are assessed and funded separately by the NDIS. For further information refer to:

Short Term Accommodation, including respite, is funding for support and accommodation for a short time away from your usual home. It covers the cost of your care in another place for up to 14 days at a time. You might have a short stay with other people, or by yourself. It’s often funded when your usual carers are not available, or for you to try new things.
Our friendly reception staff will be happy to recommend our preferred wheelchair taxi drivers for any personal transport requirements you have during your stay. The CRT Program van is unable to be booked for personal appointments and outings as it is used to transport guests to a variety of recreational activities as part of our group activities program.
Throughout your NDIS journey with CRT, we’re here to support you and help you understand your options. Some of the main things we’ll discuss during your free consultation session include:
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a way of providing Australians under 65 who have a permanent or significant disability, with funding to receive the necessary care and support to achieve their goals and get through their everyday life.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing support for Australians with disability, their families and carers.
The NDIS will provide about 540,000 Australians under the age of 65 with a permanent and significant disability with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to live an ordinary life. As an insurance scheme, the NDIS takes a lifetime approach, investing in people with disability early to improve their outcomes later in life.

Tenants will also be required to pay for all utilities meal and pharmacy as living expenses
When we fund Medium Term Accommodation, we think about how much support is reasonable from other people. This might be your family, carers, informal and community supports.7 We think about if they can support you while you wait for your long term housing option to be ready.
It is a requirement in NSW that a fire and safety evacuation plan is posted publicly in all new buildings. Each tenant will have an individual evacuation plan tailored to their situation.
NDIS doesn’t fund support for services which are:
A basic NDIS plan must include the following information:
NDIS will notify you when it’s time to renew your NDIS Plan. Once you have had your planning review meeting and have chosen to Plan Manage, a new service agreement will need to be signed to cover the new plan. This will enable NADO to continue paying your invoices on your behalf.
Shared overnight support will be provided by the appointed Supported Independent Living (SIL) provider as needed. Any daytime supports are the tenants own choice.
Your long term housing solution is the place you’ll live for the foreseeable future. This might include:
your own home. For example, if you’re waiting for home modifications to finish before you can move into your own home
another home. You may be moving into a house where you’ll start receiving Supported Independent Living supports
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). If you have SDA funding in your plan and an SDA tenancy offer, but it’s not available yet.
We won’t fund Medium Term Accommodation if:
it’s not considered reasonable and necessary
it isn’t related to your disability
you don’t have evidence of a confirmed long term housing solution
Short Term Accommodation or other supports are more suitable
it’s for emergency housing, unless you’re waiting for your disability related supports to be ready and have a confirmed long term housing solution. Your state or territory may have services for crisis accommodation. Your Support Coordinator, Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or planner can give you more information.
it’s for children in a foster care or out of home care arrangement
you’re waiting for public or community housing, unless you’re waiting for your disability related supports and have a confirmed offer of long term public or community housing.
